Tomaso Clavarino
Tomaso Clavarino is a photographer and director based in Italy. He was born in 1986 and holds an MA in Contemporary History.
His works are regularly published by major magazines and media outlets worldwide.
In parallel with his editorial work, he also pursues more personal projects that have been exhibited and screened in galleries and at major international festivals such as the Athens Photo Festival, Fotografia Europea, Les Rencontres d’Arles, Photo Kathmandu, Cortona On The Move, Format19, Photo Open Up, and the Verzasca Foto Festival, as well as in museums and public spaces such as Triennale Milano, MUFOCO, or Museo Blanes in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Over the years he has been awarded several prizes and grants for his work: Premio Fabbri per la Fotografia Contemporanea, Cortona On The Move New Visions, ISPA Award Grant, Pulitzer Center Grant, Refocus by the Italian Ministry of Culture, PanoramiContemporanei by MUFOCO, as well as being a finalist at Grand Prix Vevey 2021, La Bourse du Talent 2018, Premio Marco Pesaresi 2019, and others.
He is a co-curator of JEST Independent Space for Photography in Torino, a professor at IED (European Institute of Design), a lecturer at F.project School of Cinematography in Bari, Italy, and holds numerous workshops.
His work is represented in Italy by the Gorizia-based studiofaganel gallery.
He is the author of three books:
